Cancer Australia’s Priority-driven Collaborative Cancer Research Sche
me 2012 (PdCCRS)

Cancer Australia’s PdCCRS is an annual national research project grant scheme which funds cancer research in identified priority areas to help
reduce the impact of cancer in the community and improve outcomes for people affected by cancer.

The scheme aims to provide a coordinated approach among funding organisations to fund cancer research in priority areas:

  • foster collaboration between research groups on a single research project
  • lessen duplication and fragmentation of research effort at the national level.

In 2012, Cancer Australia and its collaborating partners will offer funding for project grants in identified priority areas.

Grants may be funded solely by one funding partner or co-funded by multiple funding partners. This national collaborative approach improves the coordination and funding of cancer research, and adds value to the research investment of both Cancer Australia and its funding partners. Successful applications to the PdCCRS are endorsed by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) in recognition of their scientific merit.

The collaborating partners are as follows:

  • Cure Cancer Australia Foundation
  • Australian Rotary Health
  • beyondblue: the national depression initiative
  • Cancer Council Australia
  • Cancer Council New South Wales
  • Leukaemia Foundation
  • National Breast Cancer Foundation
  • Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia
