How are we Different?
What Cure Cancer does - and why we are different?
Questions are often raised about the number of cancer charities in Australia. What do we all do? Why are there so many organisations?
Cure Cancer Australia supports young post-doctoral researchers with an innovative approach to solving the complexities in cancer research. We aim to be Australia's leading independent Foundation for cancer research.
We raise funds through our innovative approach to fundraising and with the support of valued corporate and individual donors. Each year, funds raised are directed to Australia's most promising research talent to enable them to pursue vital project work in any area of cancer.
The difference between funding through Cure Cancer Australia and funding an institution directly is the input of the members of our Medical Grants Advisory Committee (MGAC). They have a long history of selecting projects with the greatest potential and are able to select funding purely on the basis of excellence. They are able to be entirely independent. Click here to find out more about the MGAC.
Funds from Cure Cancer Australia are provided directly to young and innovative researchers specifically to fund the projects selected by the MGAC as most promising in their potential to find a cure.
